Break for 4 bars during piano solo then:
Slighty distorted guitar and Synth guitar both play Fig 1 for 8 bars
After 4 bars of Fig 1, Distorted guitar/synth guitar comes in with this for 4 bars:
Cut for 4 bars to synth playing Fig1 and vocals
Then, (this is the really fucked part) 4 bars

use a pitch bender/trace:
Then layering up on synth and distorted guitar:
You can build the
D string notes into powerchords towards the end
and emphasise the open Ds with a pitchbender down an octave
